Is the list back online?
Hi everyone, A very nice researcher sent me info on my Barber/Barbour surname from the 1860 Moore Co. census, but he didn't include all the census info. The ancestor was my great great grandmother, Isabella Barber/Barbour. She was listed as head of house and had 2 girls, Nelly and Elizabeth, living in the household with her. I would like to know their ages and their relationship to Isabella. Could someone help me with this info? Thanks so much, Sherry inmansi@aol.com
Hi, I can't recall who the listowner is for the Moore list and I got a message from a lady who was trying to post a query and was getting no response. She thought I was the listowner. (I'm the County Coordinator for Moore Co., web page, not the listowner) Just checking...? Sue
Hi everyone, A very nice researcher sent me info on my Barber/Barbour ancestor, Isabella Barber/Barbour. This info came from the 1860 Moore Co. Census. But he failed to include all the info. Could someone do a lookup for Isabella Barber/Barbour in the 1860 Moore Co., NC census? I think she is listed as head of house with 2 other females living with her. I need to know these females' names, ages and their relationship to Isabella. Thanks so much, Sherry inmansi@aol.com
Hi List Members, A very nice researcher sent me info on my Barber/Barbour surname from the 1860 Moore Co., NC census, but he failed to mention the relationship between the head of house, Isabella Barber, and the listed household members, which are Nelly (Penelope) Barber and Elizabeth Barber, or their ages. Could someone help me with this census lookup info? Thanks so much, Sherry

Often, you will need to update or reinstall your Adobe (Acrobat) reader. The current version is 6.0. I've seen many Brewer family trees on the web which have Pleasant Brewer, b. 1800, as the son of Ambrose and Oma Richardson Brewer of Moore County. BUT I saw one family tree that stated that Pleasant was an adopted son of this family. Does anyone else have information about a possible adoption? I'd like to hear from others researching this Brewer/Richardson line and particularly want to swap info about sources for the information. My line is thru Pleasant Brewer whose daughter Eliza married Jordan Edmonds. Best wishes, Judy Russell Bogart, GA
I have a small amount of info on a James, Joseph, and Thomas Fry. Land records in learly 1770s of all three around Anson and Yakdins River. Also a note of a will of Thomas Fry in Bath Co. N.C. late of London in GB. (All to mother in England, Elizabeth Fry of Milton in Sothton. Rest to wife, Elizabeth and heirs.) I have a Thomas in the 1850 census aged 56 and one aged 47 and one aged 74, all listed in Moore Co., also have family listed, if interested. Bill Fry
Dear Sue in Seattle and Group, Thank you for your reply on the FRY's and the tip on the History of Moore County Publication. I have read it and made plenty of notes...I feel that the information given is possible their families, but not BINGO yet. The 1810 census shows a few male FRY's that could be father to Elizabeth according to the tallied columned ages, but I have not located another record like a will that names the father of Elizabeth. The three men I see that might be her father is James, Joseph or Thomas FRY. They had land and some records around the right place. Has anyone researched James, Joseph or Thomas FRY?? Thank you for any tip or lead, Cathy Farris PS Thank you to to Gaye for noticing the FARRIS names in the census...during that time my FARRIS were in Kentucky and Illinois...and they are as numerous as SMITH.
I would love to have a copy of the Moore Co. History Book. Tell me how to purchase one. Thanks Bill Fry
Cathy, Bill, have either of you read the history of Moore County. Great little book can be interlibrary loan I would think. It has tons of Frys in it, even a cemetery. Fry seemed to be a large family in Moore Co. My Medlins were found around the families of Fry(e), Rose and Caddell. I do not connect to a Caddell but they were in all the records where I found Medlins. I like to do multiple research when I am looking in the archives etc so if I can help let me know. I would appreciate the same as my Rosetta, wife of Benjamin Medlin is a real stumbling block for me. My Benjamin Medlin was born in Moore in 1812-1815 Thanks, Sue Knudsen in Seattle,
