There is no Taylor Robinson on the 1850 Census. This is the only Wm Robinson in Montgomery Co. on the 1850 Census. He has a son who was probably named for Zachary Taylor and could have been called Taylor. Another confirming fact is that he was 43 when he married Jane Cranford and would have been born in 1848 as this Zachary T. was. There is no big gap among the children to indicate when William's first wife, Mary McDonald, died and when he married Ann Harris (The Heritage of Montgomery Co., NC Vol II), so it is hard to tell if his mother was Ann or Mary.
