McDonald in my direct lineage -- Margaret McDonald who married Hector McKenzie. I haven't been able to connect her with any other McDonald (or McDaniel) in Montgomery Co. and would love to hear from anyone who recognizes her. Beth, I have a line of McDonalds in Montgomery Co. that are identified in several Montgomery Co. records as McDaniels. So, it appears that these two family names were sometimes misspelled or misidentified. It might be a good idea for you to look at McDonald records as well as McDaniel records. Hope this is helpful. I am stuck on my ancestor John F. McDaniel. I have the information that he was born in Montgomery Co., NC, Feb. 18,1808....not documented. He was the son of Fielding McDaniel, birth place and date unknown but thought to be born about 1781, either in Va or NC. His wife was Lucy Barker (another brick wall). She may have been the daughter of Ambrose Barker and his wife Mary Ann Ragland. Fielding and Lucy may have married while living in Montgomery County. John F. McDaniel had the following siblings who may also have been born in Montgomery Co: Ambrose McDaniel (married Rosetta?), Elizabeth McDaniel who m. Thomas Wakefield; Evan McDaniel..no info about; Fielding Jr. no other info; William, no other info; Agnes McDaniel and Charles Barker McDaniel. I know that John, Agnes, Charles move with parents to Lincoln Co. TN but am not sure when. Any information or clues would be helpful. Thanks very much. Beth Sloan
