The Rev. C. C. Johnson appears in Dr. George Howe's History of the Presbyterian Church in S. C. Vol. 2., Charleston, S. C.: Walker, Evans & Cogswell, 1883. His biography which is almost all related to his church appointments, includes the following genealogical information on p. 515: "He married early in his ministry a cousin of his by whoe he had nine children, four sons and five daughters. Only one son and three daughters survived him. His wife and one daughter soon followed him to his heavenly home." Louise Pettus
