    2. Why were Grants issued? Would it be to new settlers or veterans of a war or other reasons? There seems to be no selling price. Book 5 pg 53 William Sehorn Grant number 1703 State of NC 150 acres land in Union County, south side of Richardson Creek entered 15 day of Nov., 1799, his heirs & assigns dated 30 day of Aug 1802. Will. White Secretary (to the right of the page) B. Williams. Then in 1853, Wm. Hill, Secretary of State went thru many grants and certified these grants as true copies, listing Wm. Sehorn as grantee and the grantor as B Wm. GOV grant Book 5 pg 53 .... I can't find any more on this land. I am trying to find parents of twins I am researching in that area, John W. & Charles E. Sehorn/Seehorn/Seahorn born 1808, in Mecklenburg county. Nina
