My 3rd great grandfather, John Harris Grier, married a widow named Martha Emiline Smith Bowden on 10 Mar 1846 in Mecklenburg County. Martha had a son named Samuel D. Bowden, born 30 Sep 1841. Do you have the name of her first husband in your files?
