Betty, If you are looking for later Owens, there is a George W. Owens, b. 1883, d. 1965 in the cemetery at Pleasant Hill Presby in lower Steele Creek. Many folks that were from the area you are talking about are buried there. Also, go to the Meck. Co. GenWeb site and you will be directed to the Steele Creek Presby church cem. records. There are a lot of Owens buried there including your W. A. L. Owens, b. Apr 17, 1816, d. Jul 19, 1898.
