    3. Hope there is someone on the list who is researching the John Purser family who lived in Mecklenburg County in the 1700-1800s. John was a Rev. War soldier and served from Mecklenburg County. He is listed on the Mecklenburg census from 1790 to 1820 and left a will probated 1826 in Mecklenburg County. John's wife is mentioned in the will, but not named. John's son Richard was my 3rd g-grandfather. Would like to know the names of both John's and Richard's wives. Thanks in advance for any help. Jimmie Nell Meadors

May Session, 1826 - showing a deed from Susannah Purser to Richard Purser (for) all her right and claim of the land willed to her by her deceased husband John Purser, bearing date 13 Apr 1826. The deed record for this conveyence is found in Deed Record Book 23, p. 54, showing Susannah (X) Purser to Richard Purser for $55, her interest in the land of John Purser, decd. on Goose Creek. John Purser also sold land on Goose Creek to Richard Purser on the same day. I do not see a refereence for Richard's wife, but keep in mind that Goose Creek, Mecklenburg Co., NC became part of Union Co., NC in 1842. If they were still on Goose Cr at that time, it would be worth while checking Union Co. records. At ancestry.com a Reita Sparrowk (Rejobird@aol.com) is researching John and Susannah Purser, whose dau., Elizabeth, married Joel Medcalf in Mecklenburg Co., NC.
