    3. Lee, Thank you so much for the information about John Purser's wife's name. In case you or anyone on the list needs to know, Richard Purser was living in Henry County, GA by 1830 (see census records) with his first wife who he evidently married in North Carolina because his daughter Elvy Purser Ford's grave marker in Marion County, AL says she was born 22 Feb 1822 in North Carolina. Elvy was my 2nd g'grandmother who married Elijah Walker Ford in Henry County, GA 15 Aug 1844. After the death of his first wife, Richard married a widow Elizabeth Bentley Lee in Henry County on 2 Feb 1837. By 1850, both Richard Purser and his family and Elijah Walker Ford and his family were living in Marion County, AL. Richard Purser died sometime between 1850 and 1860 and by the time the 1860 census was taken, his widow Elizabeth was living in Marshall County, AL. By 1880, Elizabeth and some of her children were living in Lee County, TX.
