Looking for info on James Yerby/Yearby/Yerbie and his family. He was the son of William and Margaret Yeraby/Yerby/Irby of Anson Co., NC. James Yearby was listed on the Mecklenburg Co. NC 1799 Tax List of Capt. Leggitt's Company - 220 acres, 1 white poll. James Yerbie was listed on the 1800 Mecklenburg Co. NC census on page 588. 2 males 0-10 years, 1 male 26-45, 3 females 0-10, 1 female 26-45. James Yerby was listed on the 1810 Mecklenburg Co. NC Census Index, page 497. No other info on this entry. James Yearbe was listed on the 1820 Anson Co. NC, Capt. Por's District, page 63. 1 male 0-10 years, 1 male 26-45, 1 female 45 and over. Family history indicated that James Yerby/Yearby had a son named Stephen. Mecklenburg Co. NC Court of Common Pleas and Quarter Sessions, Minutes Book 4. James Yearby purchased on April 5, 1798, 200 acres of land from from Averet Yearby, (proved by Henry Rose.
