James N. Spratt would have been the bondsman for the marriage and B. Oates was the Clerk of the court at that time that would have issued the bond. This was the only information on a marriage record of that time. Parents names were not given until about 1870. (By the way, that date is not the date of marriage but the date the bond was issued.)
