My message: Just read your posting in the Mecklenburg list and for the first time in many years I saw the name Gideon as a sibling of your Thompson. I have searched everywhere - figured with a name like Gideon it would be easy to find him - wasn't so. Just read the posting and went ape - haven't even looked to see if I could help you but will certainly do so. I have Gideon's family forward, hadn't connected him with anything prior to him but do have Thompson information that I was trying to tie in. There was a Benjamin Thompson in Virginia in the same area as my Bradshaws. I will pull together what I have and send you a note tomorrow. I have a copy of Gideon's will, a map that shows a plot of some of his land, where he is buried, etc. Let me know if you think any of it would help you. About three years ago I belonged to the Thompson list and there was a lot of material there, will also check that. If you have anything on dear Gideon would surely appreciate it.
