Steve, I checked my Court Minutes Book, Bk 1, 1774-1780 by Brisco (don't have his full name as Southern Historical Press did a reprint on it and they took the copyright) Because I the copyright I will tell you only that there is reference to a deed from Thomas Thompson & his wife Pressila to Jennings Thompson for 48 acres on 16 Jan 1772. There is not a book and page no. since this was a court record and not a deed filing.
