Hi, hope you use some of this. John Douthit, born 1709 in Ireland, came to America with brothers Nathan and Thomas. Four more brothers came in 1770. John was a weaver and lived in NY, Pa, and then Md. John married Mary Scott and they had 11 children, 5 born in Md, and 6 in NC They came to NC and lived in a community called Hope on land they bought from the Moravians. John operated a ferry across the Yadkin River.His children are: Elizabeth, John, Mary, William,James, Thomas, Isaac,, Sarah, Rebecca, and Abraham(twins), and Jacob. Hope this helps.
