Joy, Thanks so much for checking for the NORTONS in NC. I do appreciate your noting WILLIAM ALSTON, too but the" ALSTONS and ALLSTONS of NC &SC"are all over the southern and some northern states repeating their naming patterns everywhere. Unfortunately for me, the book on Alstons has my g-g-g grandfather SAMUEL NORTON as the husband of JULIA JUSTINA ALSTON (dtr of JAMES WRIGHT ALSTON) and father of the children, but says NOTHING about SAMUEL NORTON"S parents.....it is QUITE frustrating. I KNOW he HAD them and that they were in NC or SC...AND that they were in Georgetown, SC when he was born...but can find no records on their short lives. WHEW!!! Anyhow, thanks so much for looking. You are very generous with your time. There is however a William Alston listed as a delegate to the Provintial Congress fom Lincoln Co NC in Aug of 1775. No help except this is a source you can check off your list. Joy B.
