Ann-I read your post about the convict's camp and you mentioned Beattie's Ford Rd. In the will(dated 1837) I have of Robt Williasmon, JR he referred to a tract of land that he "held in common" with Dr James Rudisill and wife as the Beaty Mine place or possibly Beaty Ford. He also had land he referred to as the Hamiltion tract (a short distance from Thompson's Ford) some land on Long Creek and he had a plantation in Mecklenburg know as Verdant Vale.Could we be talking about the same area?Do you know anything about the area I mentioned? I'm not familiar with the counties in NC-could you give me an idea of where this area is in relation to modern day NC? Thanks for your help. Donna I
