BERRYHILL has my attention. :) There is some speculation that a Berryhill connection of some sort is part of our Hiram HARRIS and his two orphaned sisters story. (Hiram: born 19 August 1791, Lavina: born abt 1788 and married a "Mr. FALL or FALLS", Sarah/Sallie: born 1785 and moved west with Hiram, evidently never marrying) Hiram was married by 1820 and in the Knoxville TN area in the mid 1820's. He moved again (adult children and all) in 1834 to Cass County, MO, and most of the family then moved again from 1848-1851 to Denton/Tarrant County area in Texas. We wonder if perhaps the mother of Hiram and his two sisters, who died and left them orphaned was a Berryhill ... and that perhaps her sister was the CASTILLO woman who raised them. Miles Castillo has been in our targets for some time. His first wife died, and was said to have been a Berryhill. But we can't find any Harris ties that bind our orphans to anyone. It's all speculation. We asked the state archives for a search for orphan records, but nothing was found for Hiram Harris. But the researcher said it was likely the record would have been filed under the deceased parent(s) name(s) or the new guardian. So ... have you seen any Castillo/Castilla/Castiller/etc's in your Berryhill women, or perhaps a marriage to a HARRIS man that might have been our orphans' Mom and Dad? :) deb At 06:26 PM 9/13/02, you wrote: >My Mecklenburg names are: > >Rea >Berryhill >Smith > >Patty > > >============================== >To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: >http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
