I would like to make contact with descendants of members of the Parks family of Mecklenburg Co.--Moses (1738-1828), his son George (1783-1827), and George's sons James, Moses Allen, Hugh Moore, George Dickinson, etc. This family for several generations belonged to the Providence Presbyterian Church. One of the Parks descendants was Henry Edward Cowan "Red Buck" Bryant, for years a journalist with the Charlotte Observer. Also interested in descendants of Hugh and Jane Parks Grey (daughter of the James Parks mentioned above, who moved to Haywood Co. NC about 1858). Hugh Grey was on the faculty of Davidson College and Superintendent of Mecklenburg Co. schools. Two of the children of Jane and Hugh Grey were James Parks Grey and Lula Grey. The brother of Jane Parks Grey, William M. Parks (1835-1919) also may have descendants still in the area. His children were John (stepson), Henry, Charles, Walter, Ella and Emma.
