Betty, I saw from your post that you have the Mecklenburg ROGERS in your line. My Grandfather's (Jonathan Monroe BLOUNT ) long lost sister Della BLOUNT married a ROGERS or RODGERS from there. Betty, Do you have any info. on the Holmes families that settled in Miss. in the early 1800's? Calvin
I am interested in a Thompson family. Robert McDowell (d 1770, Mecklenburg Co) lived in what is present NE Cabarrus Co, not far from the Rowan Co. line. His will named a daughter, Margaret Thompson, and a granddaughter, Margaret Thompson. I would sure like to know what Thompson family they were. Also, Robert McDowell had a son, David McDowell, who married Elizabeth Scott. David moved to Spartanburg Co, SC to Lawson's Fork of Pacolet River. Any help with the Thompson family will be greatly appreciated. I agree. I have never had trouble with Ancestry.com other than on weekends, they do run slow. I do most of my searching early in the mornings and never have had a problem. I have found a lot of information there. I have a lot of trouble with the site too, and ALWAYS on the week-ends where there's no one there! I send them an email and they fix it. Go here... http://www.ancestry.com/help/support/main.htm and fill out the blanks. Ancestry.com is better used with your independent browser if you use AOL. OR you must update your browser with AOL at keyword: browser I have been a member for over a year now and find it to be the most useful source on the web. While I like familysearch.org and familytreemaker.com, ancestry.com use actual records - be aware: through human error, James may be spelled Ajmes, Charles could be Charels - so, if you may have to play with names to find all the records on her or him. David LOVE and Jean THOMPSON were married on 24 Aug 1802 in Mecklenburg County. They may be the parents of my ancestor John Scott LOVE who was born 26 Jul 1803. I think there may be some kind of link to Abraham SCOTT and his wife Nancy of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church. Does anyone have information on David or Jean? Abraham? Thanks.... Donna J. I have cable modem and the only way I can access the info on that site is to turn off my proxies. Then I have no problem [email protected] wrote: > > I recently joined An.com and am having trouble with getting the info it said > is available.Ex-when I make a hit in the census info , I try to access it it > just gives me a bunch of "gibberish"-I can't get the info.
