    2. Dianne, First, I am curious, are you referrinfg to Crooked Creek in Sugar Hill Twsp. of McDowell Co.? I don't know a lot about the Hoyle's, but have a few hooking onto my research. These are reference's I have which may help you. Christian Hoyle appears as a witness to the will of Mainyard Gilliam, written 11 February 1863. Also appearing as witness is William J. Souther. Exec. are Noah Souther and William R. Gilliam. Burton Hoyle, the son of C. Hoyle and Mary Hoyle married Sarah J. Pangle, daughter of Anda nad Fannie Pangle, at the Hoyle home, 16 June 1878. Married by A. J. Dula, J.P. In that same time period Michael C. Hoyle and his wife Alza Noblett Hoyle, the duaghter of Moses A. and Lavicey Vaughn Noblett, had these children marry in McDowell Co., NC.: Sons: John M. Hoyle married L.E. Jordan, dau. of John and Norma Summer Jordan, on 6 Jan. 1874. Married by G.R. Morgan, J.P. 2nd) John Hoyle married Ellen March, dau. of John and Elizabeth March, on 15 Aug. 1878, at the Home of A.J. Dula. Married by A.J. Dula, J.P. 3rd) John M. Hoyle married Mary Ann Bright McCurry, dau. of Aaron and Mary Grant Bright. Mary was first married to William McCurry, son of Willaim and Rebecca Noblett McCurry. On 8 Apr. 1900, by J.M. Reel, J.P. M. W. Hoyle married Alice Sandlin, dau. of John and Rachel Sandlin, on 12 Mar. 1882, in Old Fort. Married by G.W. Harmon, M.G. William Hoyle married E.J. Gunter, dau. of Joseph and Sarah Gunter, at the Gunter home, on 5 Nov. 1879. Married by A.J. Dula, J.P. Daughter - L.D. Hoyle married W.T. Noblett, (not sure of his parentage), on 12 Feb. 1871. Married by N.Souther, J.P. Burton and Sarah Pangle Hoyle had a daughter named Lottie Hoyle who married H.A. Gibson, son of P.(?) and Harriett Gibson, on 23 Dec. 1900. Married by James Gibson, J.P. A son, W.S. Hoyle married Louellen Gibson, dau. of P. and Harriett Gibson (sister to H.A. Gibson above), on 12 Sept. 1900. Married by J.M. Reel, J.P. I am researching Noblett, Reel, Souther, Morgan, Bright (to name a few of the many!) and have found these references in my search.
