I would love to have any family photos taken in McDowell County or of people from McDowell County (prior to 1950, especially early 1900s.) I am creating a photo site, maybe not connected to the NCGenWeb site. If you have any to contribute, please let me know. If you don't have access to a scanner, if you will send me a COPY of the photos (absolutely NO ORIGINALS please -- and I probably can't return them) I will scan the photos for you. I have started working on the site today and have over 30 photos so far, mostly of my family. I would really like to have more photos! I will give out the address as soon as I get everything working properly. If you already have the photos in digital form, please send them as jpgs if possible, and I need to know who is in the picture and if more than one person in the photo, their relationship to each other. Even if the photo site is not related to the NCGenWeb site, I will never charge for accessing the photos or charge to put them online, etc. In other words, it will never be "for profit" in any way.
