Hello List: Well, I shall keep on trying, perhaps someone out there has some info on my great grandparents. Looking for the parents of Oscar H. POTEET born, Jan 1886 in Mcdowell County (Marion), NC. On the 1900 census, it lists Mary A. POTEET born November 1842 as his grandmother. Also it lists: Bell C. b. May 1890 Minnie L. b. 1893,,<< Both are listed as grandaughters. The 1870 census shows - POTEET, James 22 JOHN 7M Mary A. 17 F 1860 census shows - James POTEET 22 Laborer ELMER?? 16 Laborer Mary A. 17 F Infant POTEET 1/12 All born in NC Anyone have these? Apparently the parents died. On a copy of Oscar H. Soc. Security app, it list John M. POTEET and Nellie MORRISON as parents. But I have no takers at this point.
