One set of my third great grandparents were Alexander Lowrey and Rachel McKinney. In NC Troops 49th-52nd there is a listing for an Alexander W. Lowrey of McDowell County, a private who was injured at Malvern Hill, VA on 1 July 1862 and died a few days later in Richmond on 6 July 1862. According to when I had Alexander Lowrey listed as being born in 1831 and the age of Alexander W. Lowrey when he enlisted (31 years old in 1862) this appeared to be the same person. Can anyone verify these are the same person? In addition, another set of my 3rd great grandparents from Mitchell County was Charles Ephraim McKinney and Sarah Hobson. Any information regarding relatives older than Charles or Sarah would be greatly appreciated. Note, the Rachel McKinney (wife of Alexander Lowrey or Lowery) listed above is a daughter of Charles Ephraim McKinney from another marriage to an Elizabeth Lowery.
