I am trying to locate the grave of a 3rd great grandfather, Alexander W. Lowery who was born in 1831 in Yancey County, NC and resided in McDowell Co. He was the husband of Rachell McKinney (d/o Charles E. McKinney and Elizabeth Lowery of McKinney Gap, Mitchell Co.) of McDowell Co. (died in McDowell Co. in 1904) and he was a member of the NC 49th Reg. Troops. He was injured at Malvern Hill, VA on 01 July 1862 and died five days later in Richmond on 6 July 1862. I am looking for information concerning Lillie Kate Munsey. She was originally from Lee County, VA. She was married to Richard Frank Pleasant and had three children. She moved between 1910 and 1920. Her parents were Grant (Gratton) Munsey and Mary L. Munsey. Her siblings were: Rebecca F, Carles, Sarah, Julie, John Curtis, Herbert Marion, Dewey Walker, Gracie, Mattie, Jessie, and Walter. I know my grandad family came from Penn. and then to Marion,Nc Mcdowell co. I know my grandfather's name was John Harvey Culbertson.But in a letter from a cousin written to her they spelled it cuthbertson.My grandmother's name was Amerant Dillinger. And the cousin she was information from was Larkin or Larke A. Dillinger,she lived in Waynesbug,Pa. 15370.This was in 1970. You she my mother died in 1989. I would love to have some information on my mother's side.
