Believed to be the son of Martha Parker and Hiram McCurry. Looking also for information on his parents. Any help appreciated. Believe Martha was an illigetimate daughter of Rosannah Sills and John Parker. Martha may have gone by Parker, Sills before marrying Hiram in 1845. She may have also married a William Hicks and a William Taylor in 1857. Have no information on the marriage of Hicks. Would like to be able to verify some information given to me. Hello, If anyone is in the Lenoir area, would you do me the kindness to see if an obit is in the newspaper for Magruder Tuttle died 11-6-1998. He was a former resident and lived in RI for a while after moving from NC and died in Richardson, TX, which I presume was near relatives as he was 90 yrs old. The TX papers did not have an obit. Hello listmembers, I am looking for William Carson Ervin and J (probably James) Robert Ervin who were the sons of Rev. James Sherrod Ervin and Anna Matilda Carson. Both were probably born 1888-1892 or so. Also need info on their sisters Mary Martha Ervin who married with a name like Menzies as I have not been able to find that name. They may or may not be related to your Modes, morphed into new variety. The Mode I believe to be mine is J. W. Mode, b. 1812, with daughter Susanah Elizabeth, b. 1845, in the McDowell Co. census transcription. Family history rumors him to have been from Pennsylvania, and to have fought for the North during the Civil War. This may or may not make him different from the other Mode personalities at this time and place.
