I have also volunteered to maintain the Migrations Project for McDowell county, as well as the NC History and Genealogy site for McDowell County. I have added links to those pages tonight. Nothing will change about the old site, the information on it, etc. The Migrations Project is a seperate organization, so far, I don't believe there is any information from McDowell County yet. I believe the project works by visitors posting their information into a nationwide database. Main St., turn rt. on New St., left on N. Garden St., rt. on Fleming Ave., rt. on Yancey Rd., go 7.3 mi. till you come to the gate of the old Duke Power Club House (now property of New Manna Church). Go inside gate a short distance until you see a gully or washout on the left. Follow this gully up the hill bearing to the right at the top of the ridge till you see the cemetery. I would like more info. on the Dobson family also. Am searching for family line of Rebecca Ann Telitha Dobson who married John Dysart in McDowell County. Their daughter Hessie (I think) married William L. Landis (my family line). Any info. appreciated.
