My grandmother was Delia Jane Biddix (b. 1894) who married William David Eckard (b. 1884). Jane's parents were Henry Biddix and Lorraine Penley. We know that she had (at least) one sister whose name began with a "Z" but that's as far as I've gotten. Would Lowery Biddix be tied to these Biddixs? We show a Henry Biddix born to a Francis and Mary "Polly" (McKinney) Biddix. According to an earlier reply on another inquiry, Francis was the son of John and Nancy (Endsley) Biddix. My grandfather Nelson Jones Hawkins was born there, he was 43 in 1920. He married Altha Reece from Buncombe County, who was age 33 in 1920. My father was Paul Jackson Hawkins, born in Skyland, NC (near Asheville, NC)on August 19, 1920. Nelson Jones Hawkins had a brother, John, who remained in McDowell County. According to the McDowell County Geneology book they were the children of Zachariah Hawkins and Caroline Jones Hawkins. Any information would be appreciated.
