    3. Thanks to all who responded to let me know the list is valid. Not much traffic here, everyone reports, so lets see if we can fire things up. Film I ordered from LDS FHC just came in -- North Carolina Macon County Records of Wills 1830 - 1966 if any one needs a look-up. I am looking for information on my great grandfather Henry Clay Quiet. His Bible records says he was born Jan. 4, 1846 in Macon Co. NC. By 1850 he was in Blount Co. TN in the household of James Quiet, age 80. I have been searching for HCQ's parents for nearly a year with no luck. HCQ's death certificate list only his father's name as Jim Quite, born VA, no info on his mother. In the census records, HCQ list his father as having been born in VA, but I found only 4 Quiets there, 2 were black, 1 was malotto and 1 was an elderly white woman, Elizabeth. I have exhausted the Blount Co. sources and am moving on. I have searched some Macon County records and all I have found so far was a J. H. Quiet witness to a slave sale in 1840. If anyone comes across this surname in any Macon Co. records, please let me know. The name has been spelled many ways some are: Quiet Quiett Quite Quitt Quaite Quait Thanks, Hester hjanisch@swbell.net
