Hi Bonnie, Here we go again. This is all I have. Audi I. Ashe was the eighth child of Isaac Ashe. Born about 1837 in Macon Co., N.C. This child listed in 1850 Macon Co., N.C. Census. No other reference has been found. Mrs. Vera Wetmore and Mrs. Estes Green both stated they had never heard the name. Both had heard of Uncle Marcus L. Ash who was the ninth child of Isaac Ash. Marcus was born about 1838, Macon Co., N.C. In the 1860 Census his wife was listed as "E" and a child as "S," 8/12 years of age, b. abt 1859. The wife "E" was born abt 1840 in N.C. With this family was also listed the following, K. Stiles, age 61 (Male) b. about 1799, N.C.; and Thomas Stiles age 17, born about 1843, N.C. This is Tom Stiles who was the second husband of Amanda Jones who married 1st. ? Gates, father of Henderson Gates. He died in Ga. soon after Henderson was born. Amanda returned to N.C. later marrying Tom Stiles. That is all I can find at this time. This information came from John Ashe. Hope this helps "a little." Talk to you soon.
