Many of you who are acquainted with Ann Moore Dellinger either personally or through her assistance with genealogical research will be concerned to learn that she has been hospitalized for the past three weeks at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Ann has been through a nightmare experience with botched anesthesiology in which her esophagus and trachea were punctured. Two thoracic surgeons who specialize in heart transplants saved her life but the procedure was traumatic. She was in critical condition in ICU for a week, but has progressed well enough now to be in a private room. I visited with Ann this afternoon and am delighted and amazed at her progress. Even though she is quite weak and has much ahead in terms of recovery, she is showing her usual strength of mind and determination! I will be talking with her in the morning, and plan to see her again later this week. Ann's e-mail is shut down for a temporary period as her husband does not operate a computer.
