Does anyone also have the Book and Page for Robert Tucker's land? My own experience with relationships of chain carriers to grantees has varied. Sometimes there is a kinship and sometimes the chain carriers are simply neighboring property owners. The North Carolina State Archives' index to land grants shows one grant for Robert Tucker in Guilford County as follows: State Records, Secretary of State Record Group, Land Office: Land Warrants, Plats of Survey, and Related Records Robert Tucker 600 acres on the waters of Uwharrie River, Guilford County Grant Number 259 Issued 1 March 1780 [date the final grant was issued] Entry Number 225 Entered 16 August 1778 [date he first entered claim to the land] Book 33, Page 305 [The index typically lists chain carriers if the papers identify them. In this instance, there are no chain carriers listed.] The land grant papers are on microfilm S.108.720, frames 1040-1043 (3 pages).
I have been searching for the parents of Nancy Tucker (c1782-c1856) who married Jacob Sain in 1808 in Lincoln Co. Does anyone know if there is a connection to Robert Tucker? Thanks for any help.
