Hi, In the 1790 Census, Cheraw District, SC is listed John Punch, age 16 or over, single, no slaves. Does anyone have access to the 1800 and 1810 censuses of SC to see if a John Punch or descendants might be listed? This John might be a son, brother or close relative of Thomas [Puntch] Punch 1755-1811 (wife Jane Hennon 1758-1841--her brother, William Hennon 1753-1824 also buried at St. Paul's) of now Newton, Catawba Co., NC & buried in Old St. Paul's Church Cemetery. The Puntch or Punch surname was rare at this point in time. Originally it is believed this family came from Holland per family stories. However, it has not been verified. This is my husband, Sid's maternal ancestry. Any help will be deeply appreciated on the early history of this family as to where, when, etc. they arrived in Colonial U.S. Thanks. Ann K.
