    1. Re: Hinkles in Lincoln County, NC 1850 Census
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iVB.2ACI/2351.1 Message Board Post: The Lincoln County Marriage book shows the following: Hinkle, Isaac; Lockman, Rachael; witness Wm P. Connel, bond dated 26 Dec 1838. That is not necessarily the marriage date. The original bonds do not show parantage this far back and probably would bring you no other information than appears in this index. You might want to try for early Lincoln Co. Wills for both the Hinkle and the Lockman families to find information about siblings etc. and there could be a will left by either Isaac or Rachael or both, giving the names of their children as well as the extent and location of their holdings. When you do send for any wills request the estate papers also, they can be extensive and very informative. Most of this is available through the Family History Library and the FH Center near you. Many, if not all, of the early records of Lincoln County have been filmed. If you are in North Carolina you can find it all at the Archives in Raleigh. Am not sure that Lincoln Co has copies of those films, but they could have. If you do not know how to do this or where to find the information I can give you some clues. My email address is displayed at the top of this page on the message board itself,
