    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: ABERNATHY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/iVB.2ACI/2356.4.1.1.1.3.3.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Alice, Welcome back. (It took me 3 days to recuperate after my last vacation, so I know what you mean!) Check out my last post: Jos. Abernathy, etc., dated 17 Aug. I now think that HE may be my ancestor, (instead of David). Finding 2 sons age 0-10 on the 1800 Lincoln Co. NC census, (previously unavailable to me) is what is the real "clincher" for me. This totally jibes with the 1820 Giles Co. TN census, which has a Joseph and David Abernathy, both age 26-45, and the David being my 3GGF, who moved to AL by 1830, (Shelby Co. AL census) along with other Methodist families: Moore,Armstrong,Mitchell,Arnett, etc. (I've checked them all out, and they DO trace.) - No small task! Anyway, I'm pretty excited, as I've been pursuing this (on the wrong branch!) for years, with obviously no success, until this latest discovery. There are SO many Josephs in my Abernathy line, (Davids. too) that I often wondered (?) but could find nothing substantial on Joseph, son of David Sr. son of Robert Abernathy III. Hope to hear from you soon.... Otis Fuller
