I'm thrilled at the idea of the LDS bringing more of their records to the internet. Before we jump too hard on the various companies charging for their services, we older researchers need to recall how it was. I for one used to practically live in the LDS family search room in Mississippi until I relocated to North Carolina. Although I am Baptist, I was a volunteer in the Family Search room. When my husband and I relocated I had to revert to my home micro-film/fiche reader, (which is now stored in the garage until I take it to the town library). I was willing to pay a fee to find the records, at my fingertips on the computer. It cost me much less this way. It freed up my time. The results are fast and I have more time to spend with the grand babies. I will be very happy to have a free service but the companies that charge a fee have done us a great service. I'm a subscriber. Some of the companies that charge a fee, also offer a lot of free access. Lynne D. Miller **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms, and advice on AOL Money & Finance.
