    3. Great News for Ramsour/Ramseur/Ramsaur Descendents! A piece of history will be made this coming June 11, 2005, and you can be a part of it. The Lincoln County (NC) Historic Properties Commission has arranged to acquire the property on which the Ramsour-Reinhardt Cemetery is located. Jacob Ramsour and pioneer Dietrich Ramsauer are buried there. Henceforth the cemetery will be maintained and preserved and will be out of the hands of private landowners. The Lincoln County Historical Association has agreed to place a historical road marker near the site and a granite monument at the entrance to the cemetery itself. We (some descendents of Jacob and Christian Reinhardt) have agreed to pay the cost of making the markers. This is where you can become a part of this historic occasion. The Ramsour's 50/50 share is $950 for the historic marker and $700 for the granite marker. A gift from you will be recorded as one of the family helping to make this possible. Here are the inscriptions that will appear: *Front of Granite Marker* Burial Site of Dietrich Ramsauer Jacob Ramsour Christian Reinhardt Ramsour owned the grist mill on the west side of Clark's Creek Reinhardt owned the property on the east side of creek on which was fought the Battle of Ramsour's Mill June 20, 1780/ *Rear of Granite Marker* Placed June 20, 2005 by the Ramsour-Reinhardt Families. *Roadside Marker* Ramsour - Reinhardt Cemetery Burial site of pioneers Johan Dietrich Ramsauer, Jacob Ramsour and Christian Reinhardt. Located 200 yards west. We will welcome any contribution and all contributions are tax deductible. Please send your check to the Lincoln County Historical Association, 403 East Main Street, Lincolnton, NC. Be sure to indicate it is for the Ramsour-Reinhardt Cemetery markers. Be generous - any surplus money will be used exclusively for beautification and improvements of the cemetery. And make plans to join us June 11, 2005 for the 225th anniversary celebration of the Battle of Ramsour's Mill and the dedication of the granite marker. The dedication ceremony will take place at the cemetery at 1:00 PM and will be sponsored by the Lincoln County Historical Association, and the Catawba Valley Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. What a great day for the Ramsours/Ramseurs/ Ramsaurs and Reinhardts! Lynne Ramsaur
