Looking at the 1820 census for Lincoln County, I came across a "Gen'l Charles Ward." Also, in "Marriage Bonds of Tryon and Lincoln Counties, North Carolina" page 128, I found a "General Ward" who married Betcy Mingus in 1819. Does anyone have any information on this man? Thanks. Bob Keener
