I think that they were in Lincointon, Lincoln Co., NC., at one time. The Robert Abernathy that I'm looking for supposly married Martha Asbury 1808 in Lincoln Co., NC. The LDS site list her as Elizabeth Jinnings Asbury (according to a Asbury researcher she was born 1793 in Lincoln Co., NC. She was also called "Betty" They are not listed in the Marriage bond books:someone sugested that they might have had a Church marriage w/o a marriage bond from the County since it cost so much.
