They were married in Lincoln County, NC. Monroe served in the Civil War. I have several Chronister Families who lived in Lincoln County when it was still Tyron County. I have an Eve Chronister, who married a Wm. Welch there in 1783 and James Chronister who married Susanna Earhart there in 1760 and several others. Other family names the Chronisters married are, Crites, Duncan, Middleton and others. It seems like Phillip Chronister raised two the his Dellinger grandchildren. I have a little more info on my Dellingers if you think they are part of the family you are researching. I descend from Arthur Hesson through his daughter, Margaret, who married Thomas Jenkins. Their daughter, Sarah married Peter Johnson from Middle TN. I am descended from their daughter Mary, that married david Banks Sloan, son of Rankin Sloan ans Sarah Kelley. I recently unraveled an error in my family's transcription of Margaret's last name. Because back then, a double s looked like a P, they wrote down HaPon as a last name. I noticed in Thomas and Margaret's neighbors, there were Hessons and that double s looked like a P, and subsequently made the connection.I connected with a family member and he sent me more info. including a transcribed letter from a Wilkinson family member, dated 1899, but my computer crashed and now I lost the name of the person who sent it. Was it you? If so, thank you. I had my computer worked on this weekend. If it's not you, would youlike the info I have?
