He was from Lincolnton, Lincoln County, NC, so I imagine he ties in some way to the Major Hull branch of the family. As far as I know, he was an orphan. My grandmother told me he was a bound boy. The 1870 census shows him as living with and working for the Calvin Canipe family. In the same census, a child by the name of Arthur Hull (age 6) is shown as a "bound boy" in another household. I don't know if they are related or not.

Henry's parents were Robert Rosamond (5/7/1754 - 4/17/1787) and Catherine Forney (3/20/1760 - 1798) who were married 6.1782 in Lincoln County, N.C. That is as far back as I have on the Rosamonds though I remeber my grandmother showing me an article from a Pennsylvania paper about Robert's father who had immigrated from Holland and worked as a carpenter. Catherine Forney's parents were Capt. Jocob Forney (born 1721 in Alsace, France and died 1806 in Lincoln Co, N.C.) and Marie Berger (born ca 1730 in Switzerland and died after 1806 in Lincoln Co., N.C.). I also have information forward from John D. to present as relates to Dr. John Henry Eugene Rosamond and his wife Inez D'Alton Fennell. I myself and looking for information on the parents for Robert Rosamond (5/7/1754 - 4/17/1787) and back into Europe.

    3. P R E S S R E L E A S E Nearly 140 years ago, William Silas Deal, a Synod representative of St. John's Lutheran church, enlisted with the NC Troops during the War Between the States. He enlisted at the age of forty, well past the age of required military service. William S. Deal fought for the Confederacy and was captured at the Battle of Hatcher's Run. He died of disease at Point Lookout prison, seven weeks after the war had ended. His bravery will finally be remembered with a memorial marker at St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery. The dedication ceremony will take place at St. John's Church, north of Conover, on Saturday, October 23rd, 2004 at 2:00 PM. In attendance will be the color guard of the CF Connor, Camp #849, Sons of Confederate Veterans as well as re-enactors from neighboring camps. Ladies from the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) and Order of the Confederate Rose (OCR) will attend with period costumes. Descendants and guests for this observance will be coming from as far away as California and Arkansas to pay their respects. The public is cordially invited to attend this event. The invocation will be given by the Rev. Scott Johnson of St. John's church and a rifle salute will be presented by members of the color guard.
