John W. Herring was born 11 Feb. 1830 in NC. His father was John Herring born 2 Feb. 1789 in NC. John W's mother is not known but his father married a Sarah ann Bowden and they had one son Lewis Herring about 1835. John W.'s siblings are George, Nancy, Elizabeth, Mary Josephine, Sarah, Charity and Lewis. This is not my line but for a friend. I do not have a John born Feb. 1789 in my Herring file but have several John's with no birthdate. This family was in Barbour Co., AL in 1850 and in Freestone Co.,Texas later. Rose Parks
