Becky, I agree with you especially about that building and the river. One of the most ornate buildings in Kinston at that time was Rhodes Academy and it had twin towers. The river pictures look more like it could be New Bern. Bob, never heard of a Bryan Motors. I wonder why any other county would be advertising a county fair for Lenoir County. Didn't most counties have their own county fairs? As I remember, Kinston had some of the larger buildings in Eastern NC, at least in the surrounding counties. I don't think they would advertise the county fair for Kinston in Raleigh or Wilmington. There is a plaque on one of the stores in one of the street pictures. is there any way to enlarge that section of the photo to be able to read it? I know an architect who is in downtown Kinston. Maybe he can help to identify some of the buildings, if they still exist (realizing that there may have been exterior changes to the store fronts and facades over the years. Will try to contact him. Has anyone contacted the Lenoir County Library to see if they have similar photos in their photo collection? Also, has anyone checked the Lenoir County Heritage book to see if any similar street scenes are shown?
