I saw the same things in those pictures that Bob saw. I live in Lenoir County and Kinston is my hometown, so something in those pictures should be familiar to me if they indeed were taken in Kinston. I don't think they were, however. What probably led to the assumption that they were of sites in Kinston is the banner hung over the street in "D401" advertising the County Fair in Kinston, N. C. But, in 1926, banners such as that could have been used in all the nearby towns as the means for advertising such an event--much like our billboards today. In the picture "D401," I also noted a building in the right background that appeared to be several stories tall and rather ornate in architecture. Nothing like that in Kinston that I know of. Also, in the right foreground there were some rather blurry street signs or directions signs which I tried to decipher. The top one appears to say "Wilmington" with an arrow pointing in that direction and perhaps a number of miles which I couldn't make out. Finally, the pictures that were taken on a waterfront show too much water for that water to be the Neuse River at Kinston.
