Barry, forgot to answer this. I am inclined to think in this case, the Sol. Rew was probably Solomon Rouse, probable son of John Rouse I. I think there was actually a Rew family in Craven Co but sometimes Rew and Rouse were used interchangeably. On one deed it mentioned John Rouse as being adj to the Bangs. I have always been convinced the Rouse family came out of New England but can't prove it. Actually, though, there was a Solomon Rew--I've seen his name often in Craven Co. records. I don't remember the dates, however.
