    3. Now that we have determined we are talking about the same white family want to run this because Kay or Rose might have something. The name Burwell came from the Westbrook family. Nancy Westbrook, daughter of Burwell and Susannah Uzzell, md Henry Canady in Greene Co. They had children Burwell, Susan, Henry M. and James L. Burwell died in 1854 right after his only child, Burwell Jr was born. His wife was Susan Moore who then married his brother James L. Kay has the information on Henry who married Penelope Waters so maybe they had a son Burwell. Burwell Jr was not born until 1854 and did not die until 1905. They appears to leave out both the Burwells on my database although it has to be the same family you are talking about. No doubt Burwell Sr had slaves - his father in law had slaves. His son, Burwell Jr purchased LaFayette in 1890 which is across from DuPont. As I understand it, the father lived right in the area.
