    3. Thanks to some of you from this list, I've been able to finally find my gg-grandfather's name. It has to be the JOHN LANE from the Greene county census. He was listed on the 1850 census and it showed he had children named CHRISTOPHER and GEORGE(my g-grandfather)as well as other children listed. I always like a few more things to make sure and found the proof in the 1860 census. I found the township BULL HEAD and that's where my family came from. It didnt tell the township area in the 1850 census, just the county of Greene. So that helped knowing. Also my aunt Winifred said that my grandfather WILLIAM LANE had mentioned how his Uncle Christopher had gone off to the Civil War and had taken a slave with him by the name of "DANIEL" he believed. Well in the 1860 census it shows belonging to the same household a black man named "DANNEL" it looks like. He was 17 at that time. So i'm basically sure i've finally found my gg-grandfather's name. He was married to MARY LANE who was about 10 years older than him. JOHN LANE was born about 1802-1806, somewhere around there. If anyone has any idea who his father might be or where i could look, it would be appreciated. His children's names were ANGELINE, JULEY or JULIA, MARY, GEORGE, CHRISTOPHER, and possibly a JOSEPH who was on the 1850 census, but not the 1860. Thank you for letting me know about the John Lane on the 1850 census. I've forgotten who sent me the information, but i do appreciate it much! Tammi __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
