(I am not selling this so don't write me) sloan Document issued by the Sheriff of Lenoir County, NC to license a merchant to operate a business.  This document is dated April 1, 1870 licensing Josephine E. Loftin to carry on a business  as a merchant.  The license had to be presented to the Sheriff's office each quarter and the fee paid to continue operating as a merchant in Lenoir County, NC. The document is 81/4 x 71/2 inches and is in  excellent condition with no tears or other markings. May be the only one in existence.
