I have researched all the "Oxley's" in that area & time fram. NEVER found any connection. MANY other researcher's have also been unable too find any thing abt him except in 1812 he join Maj.Tisdale's command & wound up in La. In 1817 in Baton Rouge LA he reinelisted. He stayed at Ft.Jessup La until abt 1832 when he left the army & settle just south of Ft.Jessup were he died in 1865. His enlisted papers in 1817 say he 5'8", dark Comp. & dark eyes. I think he was at least part Indian Red
