FYI ...{:) Dan Fairfax Nashville, Tennessee dfairfax@nespower.com <mailto:dfairfax@nespower.com> ================= -----Original Message----- From: Allen Fairfax [mailto:fairfaxa@hotmail.com] Sent: Friday, April 27, 2001 12:23 AM To: DFairfax@nespower.com Subject: Re: Loftins Crossroads - Catherine Loftin Dan, Remembered that a West (in reference to the Joseph Loftin m. Elizabeth West, parents of Catherine Loftin m. Strickland) was in the Peter Fairfax 1780 tax list, so checked out the West genforum and found this ... ****** John West and possibly a brother or two came into Grady County (then Thomas County ) before l840 or so. They had come from Kinston , N.C, and spent a year on the way to make a crop in Houston County. They were in a party of people including Hinsons. There are still members of that family around Midway community , 5 miles south of Cairo on Hwy 93S. ****** Houston County is also the location of a will by a Robert Fairfax (1870?) ... I forget exactly when it was, probably a search in US genwebarchives for Georgia will index it ...the above listings are all Georgia locations ... my great grandfather Ezell lived in Thomasville and I have worked with churches/community groups in both Cairo and Thomasville ...
