I found the following on my last trip to Raleigh 1844 William Baker paid 60cent poll tax and 22.5 cents on 75 acres of land 1850 Lenoir Census Ann Baker age 22 listed with William K Baker age 2 - no adult male listed in dwelling -no other people in family #468 1860 Lenoir Census William Baker age12 living in Isaac Sparrow dwelling I found the following from Tyndall/Noble Estste records on Lenoir County site William T.? BAKER the son of Ann Jane BAKER was borned December the 2nd day in the year of our Lord 1847? Charity Ruffin BAKER the daughter of Ann Jane BAKER was borned November the 28 day in the year of our Lord 1854.***Another record states that this child fathered by Issac Sparrow*** These two births are the only ones that don't list the father In Lenoir Bile Records (NC, Lenoir, Bible, Isaac Sparrow) Charity Ruffin Sparrow the Daughter of Isaac Sparrow Jane his wife was borne November the 28 day in the year of our Lord 1854 So between 1847 and 1854 Isaac's wife gone-Jane's husband gone-and Issac and Jane start having children together Wondering what happened-Did William's father desert Jane and his young child or did he run off with Isaac Sparrows wife-or did they both die from disease Looking for some input thx Ben Link: Askew Family URL: <http://members.visi.net/~baskew>
